Tim Burton Mad Hatter Costume Alice in Wonderland

As much as Johnny Depp was hyped as the Mad Hatter, also known as Tarrant Hightopp, in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland 2010 movie, he didn’t quite manage to steal the scene as he usually does (see: Jack Sparrow). However, you can easily steal the Halloween party scene yourself with this great reference shot of the Tim Burton Mad Hatter. The devil is in the details and this picture shows the Mad Hatter’s full body costume, complete with crazy bowtie, a sash of colorful sewing threads, pink handkerchief, and assorted hobo-bohemian clothing like the half gloves and tattered jacket and pants. Anyone can buy a green hat with an orange wig and wear white makeup with crazy eye shadow, but who’s going to pay close attention to the minute details that make the Tim Burton Mad Hatter costume as mad as it really is? It’s going to be the one who’ll have the best Mad Hatter costume at the party.
