Tim Burton Mad Hatter Face Makeup Closeup
Only a costume party goer who goes for gold will try to goes as the Tim Burton Mad Hatter costume from the 2010 Disney and Tim Burton movie Alice in Wonderland because it is such an intricate costume, both in the makeup and in the clothing. He makes Alice’s look so easy to pull off. To cover the facial makeup portion of your job for you, here is a great reference shot of the Tim Burton Mad Hatter face makeup from the chessboard battle field from Alice in Wonderland. Start with the standard white face makeup, orange wig, and Mad Hatter hat of course, and you’re halfway there. However, to get the other half completed, you’ll need to check out the intricate eye makeup pictured. He uses a turquoise shade above the eye and a burgundy shade under the eye which extends along the sides of the nose to the nostril. A touch of dirt-color blush around the cheeks and a magenta lipstick will pull off the look. To go even further, draw with the eyeliner pencil first some black stitch marks under the eye, and then go over them with a white pencil. Nobody will say you didn’t try if you didn’t go for the green contact lenses either. Make sure you won’t step out the door with a Mad Hatter Tim Burton wouldn’t be proud of.

Anyone think the Madhatter sort of kind of looks like Chris Walken?
